Leaving for the Camino de Santiago…

August 20, 2011

So if you’ve paid attention on this blog, you know Martin and I are about to embark on a big adventure.  Tomorrow morning we will catch a bus to  St. Jean Pied-de-Port, a little town in France very close to the Northeastern Spanish border.  Here we will start the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage trail across the northern part of Spain to the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.  It’s 760 km and will take us about a month to walk the entire thing.

Now, those of you who know me personally know Im not the most roughin’ it type of girl so we will see how this goes! But Im excited to see what its actually like, see the beautiful views of Spain and to meet cool people along the way.  Just to give you an idea of how little we are carrying.  Here’s my share of the clothes:

People, this is only one pair of shorts, one pair of boxers, a pair of leggings, a bikini, 2 t-shirts, 2 tank tops, 3 pairs of undies and 3 pairs of socks.  Plus I have a rainjacket.  Think I’ll make it!?

But here’s what I really need to pack!

Disposable cones so I can pee standing up! Must have now.

So, here’s the deal.  I have no idea how often we’ll have internet, or how Ill manage to load a picture but hopefully every couple of days Ill be able to give an update with a little photo too.

Send lovely thoughts my way my lovelies, Ill need them!
