Smitten Playdate – Creative Wedding Photography

Back in 2016, Audrey and I hosted a Smitten Playdate at the gorgeous Marion Hatcher Center in Augusta, Georgia.  Our mission was to provide workshop attendees an opportunity to simply play and experiment with creative wedding photography.

We created highly editorial wedding looks by pulling from some of our favorite collections: Francesca Miranda, the Brooke Atwood x AWB collab and key pieces from the ever kind ladies at Bleubelle Bridal in Savannah.  Cucumber + Mint provided gorgeous hair and makeup. Our models wore delicate jewelry pieces from Dalva NYC.  To give our girls an even more avant guard flair, the incredible Sherry of Gertie Mae’s Floral Design created playful wearable flowers.  Attendees were encourage to experiment and try creative photography techniques.  We played with shooting through prisms and mirrors and with double exposures.  The day resulted in a completely amazing wedding editorial that was featured in an issue of Smitten Magazine.

I am completely obsessed with my experimental images. By revisiting this editorial, have a new found drive  to incorporate these techniques into my real life wedding photography.  Brides – would you like to see this type of experimentation on your wedding day?
