Daniela & Pedro – DIY Sparkly Wedding – The Morris Center – Savannah

October 9, 2015

Oh my gosh you guys, this is probably the longest blog post EVER.  But that’s because everything about Daniela & Pedro’s wedding was divine, beautifully inspired and perfectly appointed.  It was seriously like photographing a styled shoot EXCEPT IT WAS THE REAL DEAL.  Swoon.  I first got a taste of Daniela’s impeccable taste and her same appreciation for an editorial flair during their whimsical engagement session.  It was there that I learned she had a knack for fashion and an eye for details.  Her wedding was a million times more.  See the full list of vendors & DIY projects below.

The beginning of the day was spent getting the girls ready and I was dealt a heavy dose of sparkle – from Daniela’s gorgeous rings to her bedazzled shoes to her incredible Hayley Paige gown, I was smitten from the very get-go.  Daniela cleverly had a drawing made of her wedding dress on which I could photograph some of her sweet details.

The guys each donned a custom wooden lasercut boutonniere – each referring to an inside joke between groomsman and groom.

I adored the capelets worn by the bridesmaids and each carried a lantern in lieu of a bouquet. The Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding Photographer

Vintage furniture, hankies & bottles adorned the ceremony site at Whitefield Square and hand lettered signs in both English and Spanish lined the aisle. The Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding Photographer

Hiring a pedicab allowed us to easily hit a few more spots in the historic district for portraits before heading to the reception at The Morris Center. The Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding Photographer

Guests were greeted with interactive vignettes at the cocktail hour – including a flavored water and Savannah Bee Company favor station – and a polaroid camera guest book station complete with retro tape decks and typewriters. Inside was a dazzling array of sequined tablecloths, hand-lettered table signs using Savannah’s squares and lots of dainty florals & greenery.  Escort cards also depicted what each guest was having for dinner. The Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding Photographer

Not only did Daniela & Pedro have a stunning gold foil wedding cake by A Squad Bake Shop, but they also included an enormous spread of desserts from both of their Latin American cultures. The Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding PhotographerThe Morris Center Whitefield Square DIY Sparkly Savannah Wedding Photographer

As customary, someone dressed in Carnival regalia, led the late night party with dances & fun props – certainly the coolest party I’ve ever attended!
