Kathleen & Jaume – Intimate Knoxville, Tennessee Wedding

Kathleen and Jaume’s intimate wedding at The Historic Southern Railway Station in Knoxville, Tennessee, was one of our favorites from last year. Located in downtown Knoxville, it gives you the city feel, with a rustic charm of an old railroad station. The Station is also home to Knoxville’s first winery, Blue Slip Winery! I was so honored to be their wedding photographer and travel from Athens to capture their day.

Kathleen and Jaume are not just an incredible couple, but they are close friends of ours here in Athens. Kathleen and Jaume met while they were both working on their doctorates in the Romance language department at UGA, where Martin is also studying. Jaume is from Spain, and Kathleen is from Knoxville. Martin first met Kathleen when they were both doing their masters at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. So it was an incredible honor to photograph a Knoxville Wedding for someone we know so well!

Kathleen just accepted a position at NYU, and they will be moving to the city this summer. We wish Kathleen and Jaume the best of luck in this new adventure and Happy 1 Year Anniversary!

Kathleen wore an all lace Oleg Cassini gown from David’s Bridal. But the most unique part of the wedding was her ring! Her engagement ring was her grandmother’s ruby ring, and she wore diamond earrings given to her by her parents when she turned 21. I love to see brides incorporate such important pieces on their wedding day.

As a destination and Knoxville wedding photographer, it was so fun exploring downtown Knoxville with the couple! We got to take some incredible shots by graffiti walls, and old railroad tracks.

They got married in the Samuel Spencer Ballroom, which had beautiful light and a gorgeous fireplace.
